Positive report for Tayvallich Primary School and Early Learning Centre

Tayvallich Primary School and Early Learning Centre are celebrating after receiving a glowing report   with ‘goods’ and ‘very goods’ across the board, from Education Scotland, following a recent inspection.

The report highlighted that staff have created a culture where everyone is valued, and the strengths and skills of individual staff benefit children.

Inspectors praised the school community and the support available to children and families with a focus on ‘continuous improvement and quality practice throughout a period of change in the senior leadership team.’ The report also focused on ‘staff fostering an inclusive learning environment’ where ‘children and their families make a strong contribution to progressing priorities’.

Lena Carter, Joint Head Teacher of Tayvallich and Glassary Primary Schools said:

“I am so very proud of our school community for evidencing what a fantastic learning environment we have created in Tayvallich.

Of crucial importance to us is the recognition in the report that staff create ‘a calm, caring and nurturing ethos and have very positive relationships with each other and children, where the children are polite and respectful to each other, adults and school visitors.’

It was also clear from Inspectors that our children and staff are proud of their school and have a positive attitude to learning.  We are committed to a school environment where everyone is Ready, Respectful and Safe and we’re really pleased the report focuses on the difference this approach is making.â€

¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥â€™s Policy Lead for Education, Councillor Yvonne McNeilly, said:

“Well done to everyone at Tayvallich Primary School and ELC for such a brilliant report. This is a great example of creating a school community that fosters input from everyone involved in providing the best possible start for all children.

Our Education Strategy sets out clear ambition to help children start out on their education journey and an essential part of that is looking at individual needs and working with children and families to get it right for every child.

It’s clear from the report that staff are working incredibly hard to provide an inclusive environment where staff work together to remove barriers to learning, enabling them to achieve and transition well into primary school.â€
