¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute exam results surpass national average

Senior secondary pupils in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute are celebrating higher than national average pass rates in this year’s exam results.

While there has been a dip in pass rates across the country compared with 2021/22, and ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute is no exception, this year’s figures in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute remain higher than the pre-Covid stats of 2019 - the most comparable year.

Higher and Advanced Higher pass rates in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute have increased by 3.9% and 3.8% respectively compared to 2019 results, while for National 4 a 100% pass rate continues, which is 12.2% above the national figure.

The Council’s Policy Lead for Education, Councillor Yvonne McNeilly, said: “Congratulations to every single young person in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute who received their exam results today. The last few years have been difficult, and they should be very proud of themselves whether or not they achieved the results they had hoped for.

“Our school pupils are still feeling the effects of missed learning as a result of the pandemic, but they have done exceptionally well to achieve what they have.

“I know there will be young people out there who are disappointed with their results, but please rest assured that there is #NoWrongPath. The exam results are just one part of the journey to your chosen career. There are many different options for positive post-school destinations, including apprenticeships and a range of qualifications in school, college, and university. Please do not feel disheartened.
