Help for Children and Young People

Welcome to your page which is full of information about what to do if you’re worried about yourself or others being harmed.

If I talk to someone will I be taken into care?

No, telling someone about abuse or neglect doesn't mean that you'll automatically be taken into care. The police and social services are there to protect children and young people from harm, but they will usually only find you somewhere else to live if they think it’s too dangerous for you to live at home.

There are lots of different reasons why parents or carers struggle with parenting responsibilities. Social work are there to help parents work out what’s going wrong and get them the support they need to make things better for the children and young people in the house.
