Commercial waste contracts

All businesses who pay non-domestic rates should be aware that waste uplift is not automatically included in non-domestic rates payments. Owners must take out a separate contract either with the Council or another organisation.

The law requires all businesses to dispose of waste safely and securely. We offer various options for the collection and disposal of commercial waste.

The cost of this service depends on the size, and number, of bins you use and the frequency of collection that you need. Bins are available in various sizes ranging from 240 litres to 1280 litres.

Commercial cooking oil disposal

With the exception of a few islands where the Council offers a separate commercial cooking oil uplift service, ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ do not collect commercial oils (mechanical or cooking) as part of their general waste service.

To dispose of cooking oil as a business you must first store it in a secure container and arrange collection by a licensed waste carrier for this type of product. Appropriate licensed waste carriers can be found on-line or by contacting SEPA (Scottish Environmental Protection Agency).

You must NEVER place waste oils into your commercial general waste or recycling bins, we will not empty bins found to be contaminated with waste oils.

If you have any questions about our Commercial waste and Recycling services or want to arrange the collection of your business’s waste, please contact us by using our  or using our contact numbers.
