Marine Safety Management System

As a ‘Statutory Harbour Authority’, ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ has specific obligations set out in national legislation.

All Statutory Harbour Authorities are subject to the Port Marine Safety Code. In order to comply with the Code, the Council has produced and is operating  a ‘Marine Safety Management System’. This is a live document which is subject to further development and will be updated when necessary.

Dangerous Good Notification Procedures

Anyone bringing dangerous goods into a harbour area must pre-notify the Harbour Master, and where relevant, the berth operator. Normally, this is required 24 hours before entering the harbour.

Reporting accidents or incidents at piers and harbours

If you are involved in an accident or incident at any of the piers or harbours, it must be reported to the relevant harbour master:
