Rising costs of food, energy bills, rent and mortgages, means that more and more people are struggling to cope. In an update to which brought together representatives from various support organisations that offer help for individuals and households struggling with the cost of living, here Pippa chats with three members of the multi-agency Financial Inclusion and Advice Group (FIAG) – David Logan, Mandy Sheridan and Fergus Walker – about the work undertaken by the FIAG along with up-to-date advice on the wide range of help available. Supporting population growth and retention in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute is crucial for the area’s economic development, and highlighting the employment opportunities for young graduates kick-starting their careers is one avenue for achieving this.
Here Pippa chats with the Council’s Settlement Project Support Officer, Milly Leggett, along with graduates Nathan, Beccy, Kris, Ian, Lyall and Sanata, who are all working for ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and each have a different story to tell about how they came to be here.
The Council recently pledged a new £6.1 million investment in the Rothesay Pavilion project to transform the A-Listed Art-Deco building into a 21st Century multi-purpose facility.
