The refugee resettlement commenced in 2015 in Rothesay supporting Syrian families. Since then, the resettlement has now dispersed across ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute, supporting refugee families from Ukraine and also Afghan. Join Pippa as she talks to Morag Brown, Business Improvement Manager around the interesting and challenging aspects of this resettlement programme and also how supportive and welcoming the communities of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute have been.
For the first time in 27 years, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race will stop over in Scotland. The fleet of eleven 70-foot ocean racing yachts owned by Clipper Ventures will berth in Oban starting on 12/07/24 and stay for ten days after a 40,000 nautical mile race around the world. The local community will welcome the final homecoming from Washington DC, USA leg of the Race and provide a 10-day festival programme of events framed under the Festival of the Sea.
