¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Marine Natura

Marine Natura is the network of areas designated to conserve natural habitats and species of wildlife, which are rare, endangered or vulnerable in the European Community.

Between 2003 and 2005 ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, in partnership with Scottish Natural Heritage, and with match funding from Leader +, employed Marine Natura Officers to facilitate the development of Management Plans for Loch Creran and the Firth of Lorn Special Areas of Conservation.

There are 7 marine Special Areas of Conservation in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Scottish Government updated management measures for these sites in 2015 as part of a national consultation on management for existing natura sites and new Marine Protected Areas.
